Embassy Date :o(

Unfortunately, we will not get the July 29th Embassy date we were hoping for. MOWA, the ministry of women's affairs, is closing for 2 weeks and will not process the birth certificate. This means the next available date we have to wait for is August 12th or the 26th. This stinks for Steve as he is supposed to be back at Denver Academy August 10th. But, we know D.A. is understanding and will do whatever they can to support us. We are very disappointed knowing we can't bring Girma home yet. But it is what it is and now we will hope and pray we get August 12th date.

In the mean time, we might just sneak away to Neebish Island, Michigan to Steve's family's cabins for 2 weeks of watching the freighters pass, boating, painting (Denise), try not to think about "the waiting" and possibly some work on the house deck.

A couple good notes: we have friends that are traveling this Saturday and will bring some more photos and the following letter to Girma. We just want to bring our son home!!! But, we trust in God and our lives, so we will just be as patient as possible and work with what we have. We also received a new photo of Girma that is precious (the photo attached to the email). He has a genuinely beautiful smile in it that puts our minds at ease a bit. The woman who took the photo of Girma said that he is a bit shy but loves to give and receive hugs! We are in heaven hearing that (especially Mommy)!!!

Thanks again for all of your support and love!

Girma,
We wish we could be there right now to give you big hugs. We will get there as soon as we can. Until then, remember that we love you, and can’t wait to hug you and start getting to know you. We are always thinking about you, wondering what you are doing and thinking, and hoping you are excited about meeting us. We will play lots of games and have lots of fun and laughs together as a new family. We love you very much.
Your new Mommy and Daddy :O)

Denise: that is a bummer about the date esp. with school. I bet it is pulling at your heart to have it postponed? God is pacing this for a reason and all you can do is trust him. What is that saying? ALL GOOD THINGS ARE WORTH WAITING FOR. I saw Girma's (wasn't is spelled Garma before?)picture before I read the post and what struck me right away was his beautiful magnificant smile (it must be for you guys as he is happily waiting for you too)he has nice healthy teeth too and his eyes smile with complete love. He must be anxious too to hold and hug you. He looks and sounds very happy too. It will all happen. I am sure it is hard now waiting but you will all have a lifetime to love eachother and be with eachother. hang in there. this gives us time to have lunch now. I will FB you.
